This book is suitable as a textbook for a senior undergraduate and graduate textbook of a one-semester course in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical and Industrial Engineering, Materials Science as well as in Applied Physics and Applied Chemistry programs. Each chapter is self-contained and self-sufficient in descriptive details, but it keeps a smooth continuity with its preceding and following chapters.
